I've just been reading my new message bible, Joshua 5 -8. 

We can't overtake and defeat our enemies if we have coveted them and made partners with them. 

The parts of us that have yielded to sin must be stoned and set on fire and put to death! 

Then we will successfully defeat our enemies.
