The art of love

Hello, my name is Kate. 

 

I live with and amongst some friends by the sea,

I work in an insane job,

I have a family background, 

and I love Jesus with all my heart. 

They are all helping me learn the art of love. How to love, and how to be loved. 

I love to listen to music. 

Particularly when I run. 

I like running. 

Sometimes I have to stop running and face things, I'm learning that too. 

My friends have kept me pretty grounded this year, 

Helping me to see things from another point of view.

They're all pretty special.

In the words of my friend Dave, 

I love sugary songs. They are sweet but lack melodic substance. 

Well I beg to differ. If they're lyrical, it don't matter how sweet it is.

One of the favourites at the moment which sorta snapshots my life this year is "Art of Love" by Guy Sebastian. 

Sickenly sweet, but the lyrics capture my heart and mind. 

It goes something like this: 

I'm saying sorry in advance - 

Cos this won't always go to plan.. 

Though we don't mean to take our love for granted, 

It's in our nature to forget what matters. 

And when the going is getting tough- 

And we're all about giving up, 

Things that we never thought we say, we're gonna say them. And games we never thought we'd play, were gonna play them.

It ain't perfect, but it's worth it, and it's only getting better. 

It's going to take some time to get it right.. 

Cos I'm still learning the art of love, and I'm still trying to not mess up.. 

So whenever I stumble, let me know.. 

You gotta spell it out, you gotta spell it out for me

Because I'm still learning the art of love. 

If I forget to get the door- 

Remind you that you're beautiful, 

I know my detail requires more attention, if I ever hurt you it's not my intention. 

Cos we're gonna make our mistakes, 

Find out how much our hearts can take 

But you know that I got your back, and baby I've got yours.

I'm still trying to not mess up.

So whenever I stumble let me know..

Sometimes I'm going to miss, I'm still learning how to give.. 

But I'm not giving up!

The art of love. 

I dedicate this post to my friends, family and team leader who God is faithfully and kindly using to chisel me into the woman I was created to be. They are all, in their own ways, teaching me how to love myself, love others and love God. 

It's the most fun I've ever had in my entire life. 

And the best is yet to come!!!!
