3 years ago today - An ode to the Good Times!
It was 3 years ago today that Nicole and I jetsetted off to America for the very first time.
3 years ago today we began a trip that would result us (more me) loosing our hearts to the big USA!
Our first trip anywhere overseas by ourselves, we were a combination of caution (well, more for me!) and pure excitement.
These are the first few photos we took on our first day. We were heavily jettlagged, but Nicole had booked us in for a snorkeling trip and tour of Hawaii's Honolulu island.
We both started this trip with, what we would describe as now a very simplistic understanding of Gods sovereignty.
But the ways that God shattered our perceptions of himself, and the ways He deepened our desperate need of His provision and grace in the events that happened after these photos were taken can never be fully explained. It's just a common, quiet knowledge we both have. Now, A deep and holy fear of God and his mysterious ways guides our faith and keeps us from minimizing His authority in our lives.
We have gone on to enjoy a few more glorious holidays since this one, but since Im super nostalgic, here's an ode to the Summer of 2009! The year I met my American sister Elisabeth Baker and experienced New York City with herself and Hannah Johnson for the very first time... And had the funnest, most adventurous, life shaping year
(next to bible college) year of my life!!
